META ADS FOR MUSICIANS

Build an audience that actually cares about your music.

Martian Entertainment runs fully managed Meta ad campaigns for independent artists.

We create the ads, build the audiences, test different approaches and optimise the campaign throughout the month, with a focus on putting your music in front of the right people and turning that attention into long-term audience growth.

Facebook & Instagram advertising, managed for you.

Running effective Meta ads involves much more than boosting a post.

A Martian campaign is built and actively managed around your music, audience and goals.

We handle:

  • Campaign strategy and setup

  • Audience research and targeting

  • 8–12 initial ad creatives

  • Multiple hooks, edits and calls to action

  • Facebook and Instagram advertising

  • Ongoing testing and optimisation

  • Budget allocation based on performance

  • Campaign monitoring throughout the 4 weeks

Your advertising runs through your own Meta Business account, so your account, data and billing remain under your control.

What are we trying to achieve?

For most independent artists, our preferred goal is Instagram audience growth.

Instead of chasing cheap clicks or meaningless engagement, we use Meta advertising to introduce your music to people who fit your target audience and encourage them to discover you as an artist.

That can help build an audience you can continue reaching with:

  • future releases

  • live shows

  • merch

  • content

  • announcements

  • future advertising campaigns

For artists running Spotify promotion alongside Meta, this also creates a broader strategy: playlisting can increase discovery around the release while advertising helps build an audience that belongs to the artist long term.

Campaigns can also be built around driving listeners through a smart link to Spotify or other streaming platforms where that makes more sense for the release.

How the campaign works

For most independent artists, our preferred goal is Instagram audience growth.

1. We learn your audience

Before launching anything, we look at your music, genre, comparable artists, location, current audience and campaign goals.

The aim is not to advertise to everybody, but rather to identify the people most likely to connect with what you make.

2. We build the creative

We typically create 8–12 initial ads using the content you already have.

That may include:

  • music videos

  • performance footage

  • studio footage

  • vertical phone content

  • lyric clips

  • visualisers

  • existing artist content

We test different openings, sections of the song, captions and calls to action rather than betting the entire budget on one ad.

3. We launch and test

Different creative and audience combinations are tested through Meta Ads Manager.

Early campaign data helps us identify which ads and audiences are performing strongest.

4. We optimise

The campaign is actively managed throughout the four weeks.

Budget is progressively moved toward stronger-performing ads, audiences and campaign setups while weaker combinations are reduced or switched off.

The goal is simple: learn what works and put more of the budget behind it.

Why Meta Ads?

Organic social media is unpredictable.

Meta advertising gives artists the ability to deliberately put their music in front of people outside their existing following.

Unlike buying streams or paying for artificial engagement, Meta advertising reaches real people using Facebook and Instagram's advertising platform.

The artist keeps the audience they build.

That is why we often recommend Meta campaigns to artists who care about long-term growth rather than a temporary spike in numbers.

Real fans, not cheap vanity numbers.

We are not interested in making your campaign look impressive by chasing the cheapest possible followers from irrelevant markets.

Audience location and targeting are decided around your actual goals.

For an artist trying to build locally, for example, we will focus the campaign on relevant local audiences rather than directing spend toward cheaper overseas traffic purely to inflate the numbers.

If your goal is international growth, we will build the targeting around the countries and audiences that make sense for your music.

Who is this for?

Meta campaigns are particularly useful for independent artists who:

  • want to grow an Instagram audience

  • want more people discovering their music

  • have a new or recent release to promote

  • want to build an audience around future releases

  • are tired of relying entirely on organic reach

  • want their advertising professionally managed

  • want to reach listeners in specific locations or markets

You do not need an existing following. The campaign is built around where you are now and where you want to go next.

Spotify Playlisting + Meta Ads

For many artists, these services work best together.

Spotify playlisting focuses on getting the release heard within Spotify.

Meta advertising focuses on getting the artist discovered by targeted audiences outside Spotify and building longer-term audience growth.

That means one side of the campaign can support the release while the other focuses on building the artist.

Martian can run either service individually or build them into the same release campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you run the ads for me?

Yes. Martian builds and manages the campaign rather than simply giving you advertising advice.

Are these Instagram ads or Facebook ads?

Both use Meta Ads Manager. Depending on the campaign, ads can run across Instagram and Facebook placements, although Instagram is often the primary focus for artist audience growth.

Do I need to make the ads myself?

No. We normally create 8–12 initial ad variations using the content you provide.

How much ad spend do I need?

We generally recommend a minimum of $10 per day in advertising spend.

Who pays Meta?

You do. The ads run through your own advertising account and your advertising spend is billed directly through your Meta account.
